In a significant step towards fostering environmental sustainability in Ghana, Greener Impact International (GII), had a round table meeting with the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly (NAMA) as part of our ongoing campaign against methane emissions. This meeting aimed to build strategic partnerships with local authorities in combating methane emissions, a potent greenhouse gas contributing significantly to global warming and climate change.
During the meeting our team engaged the leadership of the Nsawam Municipal District Assembly in a productive discussion about the critical need to address methane emissions at the local level. Methane, primarily produced through agricultural activities, waste management systems, and energy production, poses a grave threat to the environment. Ghana, with its expanding agricultural sector and growing waste generation, is increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of methane emissions, and local action is crucial for mitigation.
